A comprehensive project for the performance of academic staff is initiated
Public universities in Kosovo are working on the realization of a joint project initiated by the non-governmental organization “Optima”, which has to do with the creation of a comprehensive system of performance of academic staff. To concretize this initiative, the online meetings of the rectors of public universities with the leaders of the NGO “Optima” have already started.
In this context, the rector of the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini (UMIB), Prof. Dr. Alush Musaj, said that in the meeting they agreed that universities should support this initiative for this project important for universities. “We hope that the project initiated by the NGO” Optima “will become a reality, as it would help us a lot in terms of the performance of academic staff,” he said.
Otherwise, within the project, it is foreseen to meet the specific needs of the universities and to address the concerns of the academic staff and administration in each university. It is also planned that the model will include the appropriate standards and guidelines for academic quality and teaching as defined by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA).
The main objectives of the program are: Obtaining knowledge through review and evaluation of seven public universities on their statute in addressing the standards of the KAA for the evaluation of the work of academic staff. Another objective is to reach a consensus on the overall goals and a unified approach to developing an academic staff evaluation process and to develop a comprehensive plan that will use a multi-faceted process to be implemented at each university in terms of accreditation standards of the KAA.
