Academician Minir Dushi was awarded the title “Doctor Honoris Causa” on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica
In a manifestation on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM), academician Minir Dushi was honored with the title “Doctor Honoris Causa”. The decision to award the title was taken by the UIBM Senate at the proposal of the rector, prof. dr. Alush Musaj, motivated to contribute to the establishment and establishment of higher education institutions in Mitrovica and the development of academic life in Kosovo.
In this event organized at UIBM, in addition to leaders and representatives of local and central institutions, rectors and professors from the universities of Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia were also present. Former teachers and former students of higher education institutions in Mitrovica were also part of the demonstration.
After the screening of a documentary film about the 62-year journey of academic life in Mitrovica, the rector, prof. dr. Alush Musaj. He said that the establishment of “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica, 10 years ago, was the crowning of a journey of half a century of academic life. “It was a dream come true for the entire generations who were part of the higher education institutions in the city on the banks of the Ibri”.
According to him, the decision of the Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi, for the establishment of “Isa Boletini” University, on March 6, 2013, put an end to the dilemma that had followed higher education institutions in Mitrovica, to be or not to be in this city. “And today we are here, in a modern campus, in a consolidated institution, which has created extraordinary conditions for our young people.”
The President of the Municipal Assembly, Vesa Broja, gave a speech on the occasion, who congratulated the 10th anniversary of this institution of higher education in the country, which has created conditions and opportunities for young people who want to study in attractive programs. The president of the Student Parliament, Ariona Rushiti, also gave a word on the occasion, while the general secretary read the decision of the Senate on the awarding of the “Doctor Honoris Causa” title.
The biography of academician Minir Dushi was read by the vice-rector for Learning, Student Affairs and Quality Development, prof.asoc.dr. Merita Shala, while Rector Musaj has awarded the title “Doctor Honoris Causa” to academician Dushi. After accepting the title shared by UIBM, Academician Dushi thanked Rector Musaj for the honor and respect shown to him.
To magnify this event, the choir of the music school “Tefta Tashko” was taken care of, then the soloist Blenda Kelmendi, accompanied by the piano by Endi Abrashi, performed T. Zade’s song “Among Loves”. The event was concluded with another artistic performance by Arben Ademi with viola and Vejsel Abdurrahmani with guitar, who played the piece “Humoresque” by A. Dvorak.
