A brief history of the Faculty of Economics, UIBM
The Faculty of Economics is one of the six academic units of the University “Isa Boletini” Mitrovica. The Faculty of Economics was founded on 04.07.2014, with decision no. 548-14, issued by the State Quality Council (KSHC) of KAA. Starting from the imperative need for the organization and development of higher education according to the standards and criteria of European Universities and beyond, the Faculty of Economics in Mitrovica within the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica proposes the model of reformed studies according to plans and programs based on the recommendations of the Bologna Declaration.
The Faculty of Economics within the University “Isa Boletini” Mitrovica (UIBM) has started work in the academic year 2013-14 in two directions: Bank, Finance and Accounting; Management and Informatics as an academic unit of UP in Pristina. Whereas, in the academic year 2014-15, it started as an independent academic unit within UIBM.
The Faculty of Economics, for the academic year 2015-16, accepted regular students in two departments: Banking, Finance and Accounting as well as in Management and Informatics, for 220 places where 200 places were for students from Kosovo, 10 places for communities, as well as 10 places for: Presevo, Bujanoc, Montenegro, Albania and Macedonia.
From the 2015-16 academic year, the Faculty of Economics organized the studies according to the program plan approved by the Senate of “Isa Boletini” Mitrovica University, supported by the Bologna Declaration, in which case the Accreditation Agency has accredited the Bachelor study programs (for both departments: Bank, Finance and Accounting as well as Management and Informatics).
The Faculty of Economics at the bachelor level offers the Business and Management study program with two specializations: Bank, Finance and Accounting and Management and Entrepreneurship.
The study programs offered by the Faculty of Economics have been compiled in cooperation with external stakeholders as well as taking into account the requirements of the local and international labor market. For this purpose, the Faculty of Economics has established the Advisory Board within FE, which consists of owners and managers of successful businesses in the region and beyond, from whom we receive information regarding the requirements of the labor market, while the requirements of we adapt them to the study programs.
FE has signed cooperation agreements with many institutions of higher education both within and outside the country, as well as with successful businesses that enable our students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
Our faculty is committed to contributing to the community by providing diverse expertise to both the business community and society.
