“IV International Multidisciplinary Geosciences Conference (IMGC 2022)” started
The “IV International Multidisciplinary Geosciences Conference (IMGC 2022)” started on Thursday at “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM), which lasts two days. In this edition, which is traditionally organized by the Faculty of Geosciences in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy (Department of Mines and Geological Service of Kosovo) and the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals, 38 references are planned to be presented with papers.
Among those who will present their papers at the Conference, in addition to the country and the region, there are also those from various European countries, Canada and Turkey. On the first day, the work will take place in separate sessions, while on the second day the participants will visit different places in Kosovo, starting from the university campus in Mitrovica, the “Trepça” Mine in Stan Tërg, etc.
In the opening ceremony, among others, the rector of UIBM, prof. dr. Alush Musaj, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Getoar Mjeku, then Selvete Grajqevci from the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals, etc. With random words from the attendees, you were first addressed by prof.dr. Sabri Avdullahi, on behalf of the Conference Organizing Council, who said that the main goal of the Conference is to bring together academics, researchers, engineers and industrial professionals to present their research results and development activities in the field of geosciences.
Meanwhile, the dean of the Faculty of Geosciences, prof. dr. Naser Peci, expressed satisfaction for the continuation of this traditional Conference in the city of miners. “The conference offers opportunities for mining and processing companies to present and promote methodologies, contemporary technologies of research and exploitation of mineral resources, recycling and innovative technologies of environmental protection”.
Rector, prof. dr. Alush Musaj said that after the first conference that was held in these premises, two others were held online due to the Covid 19 pandemic. “On this occasion, I want to express my gratitude to the leaders of the Faculty of Geosciences for their dedication this conference keeps its rhythm for every year. I also want to thank the co-organizers of this Conference: the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Geological Service of Kosovo”.
The Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Getoar Mjeku, Selvete Grajqevci from the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals and Professor John McArdle, a Fulbright expert from the USA, also spoke at the opening ceremony.
