Rector of UIBM, prof.dr. Alush Musaj, after consultations with the management, teachers and personalities of the academic life in Mitrovica, has taken the initiative to award the “Honoris Causa” award to academician Minir Dushi, who has made an extraordinary contribution to the development of higher education in Mitrovica. The idea is that this award for the academic is shared on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica.

Rector Musaj visited academician Dushi at his home in Pristina, with whom he talked about this initiative. “It is extraordinary that we have the opportunity to honor a personality whose name is associated with the academic life in Mitrovica, from the opening of the Technical High School in 1961 onwards”.

Academician Dushi expressed himself extremely touched and very grateful for the initiative to honor him with the “Honoris Causa” award from UIBM. Although at the age of 95, he expressed his willingness to be a part of the event marking the 10th anniversary of UIBM and the 62nd anniversary of academic life in Mitrovica.

The initiative for the awarding of the “Honoris Causa” award by Rector Musaj will go through the usual procedures, while the decision is taken in the UIBM Senate. It is the first time that such a prize is planned to be awarded by UIBM.
