Students and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at UIBM visited the German Embassy in Pristina
Students and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM), Prof. Assoc. Dr. Islam Qerimi, conducted an important visit to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Pristina. During this visit, they were welcomed by His Excellency the German Ambassador, Mr. Jorn Röhde, and Mr. Christian Böttcher, Head of Culture and Press at the German Embassy.
The primary purpose of the visit was to gain insight into the role and contribution of the German Embassy in Kosovo’s integration process into the European Union. Ambassador Röhde provided the students and the dean with a comprehensive overview of the continuous efforts by the German Embassy and the German state to strengthen the rule of law and democracy in Kosovo.
During the discussions, the Ambassador highlighted the concrete engagements undertaken by the German diplomatic mission to advance the Republic of Kosovo towards membership in European organizations and the United Nations. Both Ambassador Röhde and Mr. Böttcher also emphasized the importance of collaboration between Kosovan and German educational institutions, as well as international partners, to achieve these objectives.
Dean Qerimi and the students of UIBM’s Faculty of Law expressed their willingness to closely collaborate with the German Embassy and the German state. They emphasized their commitment to supporting Kosovo’s integration process into international organizations and promoting peaceful dialogue as a means of addressing issues arising from international agreements.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Röhde and Dean Qerimi agreed to continue these informative engagements. The primary goal of these activities is to further strengthen cooperation to ensure peace, promote the rule of law, and protect parliamentary democracy in Kosovo, the region, and Europe.
This visit marks a significant step in fostering partnerships between Kosovo’s academic institutions and international partners, positioning UIBM and the Faculty of Law as key contributors to the country’s democratic and legal capacity development.
