Students of the Faculty of Education visit the Art Galleries in Pristina: An Extraordinary Experience with the Works of Gjelos Gjokaj
On 05.06.2024, second-year students from the Faculty of Education of "Isa Boletini" University
in Mitrovica, accompanied by professor Saranda Kika Bahtiri, had an extraordinary experience
during their visit to the Gallery of the Ministry of Culture and the National Gallery of Kosovo.
This visit was organized with the aim of expanding students' knowledge of contemporary art and
its importance in cultural and artistic education. During the visit, the students had the opportunity
to see up close some of the most popular works of the famous artist Gjelosh Gjokaj. Gjokaj,
known for his special techniques and his rich interpretations of landscapes and portraits, has left
an indelible mark on contemporary Kosovar art.
Gjelosh Gjokaj's exhibition amazed us with the diversity and depth of his works, including
powerful paintings and graphics that combined vivid and dark colors to create a dramatic and
emotional effect. Among the exhibited works, the students particularly focused on some
landscapes that displayed an extraordinary skill in the use of light and shadow. At the National
Gallery of Kosovo, students were welcomed by Naim Spahiu, exhibition coordinator, and Vlora
Hajdini, education coordinator, who provided detailed and interesting information on the
exhibitions and their cultural significance. This educational visit was highly appreciated by the
students, who learned about the importance of art in the culture and history of Kosovo and were
inspired by the talent and creativity of one of the country's best-known artists with world
renown.
