Table for promoting the mining sector
Mineral reserves in Kosovo are large, so investments should be oriented in this sector, given the qualification of staff. This was said on Tuesday at the roundtable entitled “Promotion of the mining sector and the importance of educating young people for economic development”, which was held at the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” (UMIB).
At the roundtable organized by the Faculty of Geosciences (FGJ), in cooperation with the Qualitative Institute for Research Analysis and Training (iCHAT), in the framework of the implementation of a project with the Ministry of Economic Development, FGJ students were presented with presentations. They stressed the importance of investment in the mining sector, given the great opportunities offered for economic development and youth employment.
FGJ Dean, Naser Peci, said that the organization of this roundtable is a very good opportunity for students to present their work in the field of mining. “The great mineral resources that Kosovo has, represent great development opportunities, but initially a scientific approach is required in their use,” he said.
The table was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Economic Development.
