The 17th anniversary of the Kosovo Declaration of Independence

The scientific roundtable will be led by Prof. Dr. Hab. Marta Witkowska from the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Islam Qerimi, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica.

Participants in this event, in addition to professors from these two faculties, will also include high-ranking personalities from the European Commission!

On February 17, 2008, representatives of the people of Kosovo endorsed the Declaration of Independence. This declaration was signed by the President of the Republic of Kosovo, alongside 109 representatives.

Since February 17, 2008, a significant number of states have acknowledged Kosovo as a sovereign and independent entity.
Notably, the majority of European countries have recognized the Republic of Kosovo, including all of its neighboring nations, with the sole exception of Serbia.

️In Europe, there is a broad consensus that Kosovo’s recognition as a sovereign and independent state is a crucial element for maintaining peace and security in the region.

[1 3️⃣ Feb] The organizers of this scientific event aim to foster a discourse regarding the 17th anniversary of the Kosovo Declaration of Independence.
