On the occasion of the beginning of the academic year 2022/23, the Student Parliament at “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM) has organized a reception ceremony for new students. The rector, prof.dr., was part of the ceremony. Alush Musaj, accompanied by vice-rectors, deans, vice-deans, teachers, leaders of the Student Parliament, etc.

Rector Musaj welcomed the new students to “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica. He expressed his and the management’s support for the students so that they can be successful. “Your success is also our success, it is also the success of your families, who expect you to make them proud with your achievements.”

Addressing students starting their studies for the first time this October, he said they are lucky to be part of these generations who have a modern university campus at their disposal. “Generations before you studied in extraordinary circumstances, without facilities and halls, in improvised spaces. While the opportunities offered to you now, given the comfortable conditions, you should see them as additional motivation to turn these years of study ahead of you into a success story.”

Rector Musaj emphasized that two days ago marked the 25th anniversary of the student protests that took place on October 1, 1997, who wanted to return to their university facilities occupied by the Serbian regime at that time. “Behind them was the order of the Liberation Army of Kosovo, of which many students became part, who are now martyrs. We are forever grateful for their sacrifice. Whereas, you as students are lucky that nothing else is required of you, only work, dedication and determination to be successful. We have this moral obligation to those who did everything for us”.

In the end, he congratulated the new students on the start of their student life and success in their studies. “Study and become a seeker of knowledge. Live and choose to be successful and happy”!

After the ceremony, rector Musaj, accompanied by the vice-rectors and the president of the Student Parliament, visited all the faculties where they met with the deans and their colleagues. In these meetings, the deans informed the rector and vice-rectors about the start of the teaching process in their academic units, where everything has started well.
