The Assembly of Kosovo approved in Thursday’s session the Statute of the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” (UMIB) and three other public universities. The statutes were approved with 61 votes in favor, after the debate that took place by the deputies.

The Minister of Education and Science (MES), Ramë Likaj said that the statutes of these universities are in accordance with the Law on Higher Education, as they have passed all the necessary procedures. The statutes of public universities have passed all the procedures required by law and public hearings “, said Minister Likaj.

The approval of the Statute of UMIB and three other public universities was welcomed by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Alush Musaj, who said that this is good news for these universities. “It was the last time to approve the statutes of these universities since the temporary statutes had started to create problems regarding the development of these institutions of higher education in Kosovo,” he said.

On this occasion, Rector Musaj, congratulated the academic staff, students, administration and especially those who have contributed to the preparation of the Statute of UMIB.
