On February 3, 2025, the Mayor of Mirdita, Mr. Albert Melyshi, honored the Dean of the Faculty of Law at UIBM, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Islam Qerimi, with a recognition award for his contribution to the research, study, and promotion of Albanian customary law.

During this moment, Dean Qerimi expressed his gratitude for the recognition from Mr. Melyshi, emphasizing that it was a privilege to work with and be appreciated by such figures, especially from a region known for its significance in preserving Albanian customary law. Qerimi further stressed that this recognition serves as encouragement to continue efforts in enriching the culture and legal education in Albania and Kosovo, as well as contributing to the strengthening of the rule of law and human rights.
