The Minister of Economy and Environment, Blerim Kuçi, on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institutions of Higher Education of Kosovo, in order to connect them to the National Network for Research and Education (NNRE). The rector of the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica, Prof. Dr. Alush Musaj, was also part of this organization, who also signed the Memorandum of Understanding to become part of this network.

The agreement emphasizes the common interest in promoting close ties in the field of Information and Communication Technology, then the importance of digital infrastructure in the development of economic and social welfare. In this context, the focus is on promoting the development and use of broadband telecommunications infrastructure and creating appropriate conditions for the quality of the learning process in the current and extraordinary circumstances.

NNRE claims to achieve development by providing HEIs with access to various digital resources, such as access to IT, modern infrastructure, various digital services, access to literature, as well as to provide cooperation between educational institutions inside and outside the borders of Kosovo. . The main goal remains to promote economic development and increase employment through the involvement of Information and Communication Technology, in particular to enable access to technology and knowledge resources for students and professors of all universities and colleges in Kosovo.

Rector Musaj, has evaluated it as an extremely important project for HEIs. He has specified UMIB as an institution that can benefit greatly, given the nature of the programs, the staff and the modern infrastructure it has.
