At a ceremony organized on Thursday at the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”, were honored with personalities, retired professors, post-mortem professors’ families and managers of the governing bodies that contributed to the development of the academic life in Mitrovica as well as the consolidation of University. This activity was held at the end of 2018 when the University “Isa Boletini” has grown up to be 5 years old, while the academic life in Mitrovica marks 57 years.

Initially, for the attendees gathered at the rector’s conference hall on the new university campus, a film about the journey of academic life in Mitrovica and Isa Boletini University was displayed. The film summarizes the challenges and successes of academic life in the mining town.

Then in attendance, one case addressed the Rector of Isa Boletini University in Mitrovica, Alush Musaj. He welcomed the guests who have been and are part of the academic life in Mitrovica. “This year, five years of the Isa Boletini University and 57 years of academic life in Mitrovica have been filled, so we have invited you today on this event to thank you for your contribution.”

He said they have invited them to share with them the common pleasure and joy of starting a new university campus. Also, the Rector warned that together with the Ministry of Public Administration a grand ceremony for the purpose of inauguration of this campus will take place.

Rector Musaj emphasized that entire generation of teachers will be honored as they have done a lot for academic life in the mining town. “You gave life to this city, even when all seemed dead, you gave it light even when everything looked dark. So let me, in my personal name and on behalf of the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”, to express my sincere respect for you. “

He reminded that the academic life in Mitrovica shared the fate of the life of the citizens of this city. “It has divided good and evil. It is now nearly 30 years that students and teachers of the then Higher School and faculties that have been within the University of Pristina and now Isa Boletini University have breathed out of their facilities in the north of the city. “

According to him, love for knowledge has been shown to be stronger than violence. “Your commitment to young people and the future of this country has challenged all obstacles. You were not delivered even when your life was jeopardized. You worked in private homes, in the basements, but you did not stop. Therefore, academic life has not been stopped and we are already sharing our common joy together. “

Rector Musaj said that the new university campus in the heart of the city will always stay here as a lantern that illuminates the future and never goes out like the sweat and devotion of those who have contributed to the knowledge and the younger generations .
