The University of Mitrovica "Isa Boletini" (UMIB) will be part of the project "Development of a comprehensive system of performance of academic staff for the university system in Kosovo", implemented by the non-governmental organization "Optima". To find out more about this project, a meeting was held between the leaders of UMIB and those of the NGO "Optima", who provided details on the development of the project.
The executive director of the NGO "Optima", Qëndrim Lluka and the expert of higher education, dr. Sharon Jaynes Hart, talked about the work processes that will begin for the implementation of the project. According to them, all public universities in Kosovo will work together to create a practical model of a comprehensive system of performance of academic teachers, which will meet the specific needs, concerns and characteristics of the teaching staff and administration of each University.
It was also emphasized that the model will include appropriate standards and guidelines for academic quality and teaching as defined by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA). "The purpose of the program is to develop a comprehensive system of performance of academic staff for the seven public universities in Kosovo," said Director Lluka.
On the other hand, the UMIB team consisting of prof. ass. dr. Merita Shala, Vice Rector for Teaching, Student Affairs and Quality Development, prof. dr. Behxhet Shala, Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Scientific Research, Elvis Feka, Senior Quality Assurance Officer and Dr. Zahir Qerkini, Central Coordinator for Academic Development, thanked the leaders of the NGO "Optima" for their support and assessed the project as very important . The parties agreed to hold further meetings so that the progress of the project is as good as possible.
