The University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” (UMIB) is the beneficiary of the Innovative Teaching Education in Mathematics project
The University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” (UMIB) is the beneficiary of the Innovative Teaching Education in Mathematics project from the European Union program “Erasmus + Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education”. In the consortium are partner universities from Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Israel, the Czech Republic, Uzbekistan and Macedonia.
The manager of this project at UMIB, prof. ass.dr. Faton Merovci said that this project will help the university in the professional development of staff in “Linear Algebra” and “Kalkulus I”, which in the UMIB have the titles “Mathematics 1” and “Mathematics 2”. According to him, trainings and visits to partner universities will be organized within the project.
Mervoci emphasized that the project will help math professors in applying new math teaching techniques and preparing materials from these subjects through manuals and video lectures where students will have access. “This project will have an impact not only on how mathematics will be taught in UMIB, but also on how other subjects will be designed and presented to students.”
The value of the project, which will last three years and funded by the European Union, is 999,557.00 €, of which the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” will realize 51,938. 00 €.
