On November 11, 2024, the Faculty of Education at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica had the pleasure of welcoming the director of the Atomi Institute, Ms. Naime Hoxha, who delivered a lecture on the topic: “Working with Gifted Children,” for second-year students (Classroom Management course) and third-year students (Personality Psychology course). Ms. Hoxha’s lecture addressed the conceptual difference between the terms “gifted children” and “children with talent,” explaining methods for identifying and supporting gifted children. The lecture focused on teaching strategies within the frameworks of “acceleration” and “enrichment,” with the aim of developing the potential of these children. The session was interactive, with discussions and group work that allowed students to share various practices and experiences.<\/p>\n

The lecture was opened by Ass. Arbesa Uka, who emphasized the importance of preparing future teachers to work with gifted children in the classroom, a topic that requires not only deep knowledge but also a special commitment to meeting the needs of these students.<\/p>\n

Representing the faculty management, the Vice Dean, Prof.ass. Saranda Kika, expressed her gratitude to Ms. Hoxha for her willingness and engagement, and to Ass. Arbesa Uka for the initiative. She also expressed her pleasure that the Faculty of Education is increasing its collaborations with other key stakeholders to ensure quality in education. She highlighted that this collaboration is an important step toward advancing the professional preparation of students and improving educational conditions for pupils.<\/p>\n

Ass. Hatixhe Gashi also provided her perspective on the benefits of this lecture for the “Classroom Management” course, emphasizing the importance of deep knowledge for addressing and supporting gifted children in the classroom environment.<\/p>\n

This meeting was an excellent opportunity for students and academic staff at the Faculty of Education to exchange valuable knowledge and experiences regarding the best ways to support and educate gifted children, preparing them for a brighter and more equal future in society.<\/p>\n
