As part of the courses Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship, students of the Management and Entrepreneurship specialization, together with Professor Ajtene Avdullahi, from the Faculty of Economics at the University \u201cIsa Boletini\u201d in Mitrovica, conducted a study visit to the Down Syndrome Kosova (DSK) Association – Mitrovica branch.<\/p>\n
The students were welcomed by Mr. Xhenis Beqiri, Service Center Manager, who presented the activities and mission of DSK in the Mitrovica region. During the visit, the students also met with the association\u2019s staff, who continuously organize activities aimed at developing the skills and competencies of children and young people with Down Syndrome in order to prepare them for the labor market. As part of the visit, the students had the opportunity to visit the Honey Workshop \u201cAm\u00eb\u201d, the Greeting Card Workshop, and Bistro X21 cafeteria, where a young person with Down Syndrome is employed.<\/p>\n
The discussion with the DSK staff took place in a warm and welcoming atmosphere at Bistro X21 cafeteria, while enjoying the best coffee in town and providing students with a direct insight into the functioning of social entrepreneurship and the importance of including marginalized groups in the labour market.<\/p>\n
Down Syndrome Kosova continues its commitment to connecting young people with Down Syndrome to employment opportunities. As a result of these efforts, in the Mitrovica region one young person with Down Syndrome has been employed in public institutions, while a larger number of young people with Down Syndrome have been integrated into the private sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
