Students from Erasmus program presented research on the treatment of discharged waters from the dairy industry in Kosovo
Within the framework of the Erasmus program, Dutch students, Jelner de Jong and Johannes Kingma, presented a research on the treatment of discharged waters from the dairy industry in Kosovo at the Faculty of Food Technology (FTU). Part of this research carried out in cooperation with Isa Boletini University in Mitrovica, the Association of Kosovo’s Cheeses Industry (SHQK), Van Hall Larenstein University from Holland and the organization “YUNIKO” were also students,
Fjolla Latifi and Bleron Fazliu, who appreciated it as an extraordinary experience.
The purpose of this research, presented at the FTU, was the analysis of the level of pollution caused by the waters, in this case the whey that is discharged from the dairy industry and the possibility of producing food that can be used for humans or animals. The presentation was attended by FTU leaders, professors from UMIB and Holland, students and dairies.
Otherwise, a long time ago at the Faculty of Food Technology (FTU) of Isa Boletini University in Mitrovica, has opened a Center of Expertise, which aims to treat the waters discharged by the dairy industry and increase the quality of the products milk.
