Roundtable: “UMIB Achievements and Challenges on its 7th Anniversary”
The biggest achievement on the 7th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” (UMIB), is the new university campus, and the challenge of institutional non-accreditation in the academic year 2019/20. This was said at the roundtable “UMIB Achievements and Challenges on the 7th Anniversary of the Establishment”, organized by the Student Parliament, which was also attended by the Rector, Alush Musaj, Vice-Rectors, Ajtene Avdullahi and Behxhet Shala, deans, professors, etc.
The Rector, Alush Musaj, initially congratulated the students and other participants on the 7th anniversary of the establishment of UMIB. He congratulated the students for organizing this roundtable, for the purpose of an open discussion by students, academic staff and management on the situation at UMIB.
Rector Musaj said that the achievements are the result of teamwork at UMIB. “We were in makeshift facilities, and now we are on the best campus in the region. There is a stable situation with regard to the academic staff as well and the institution is generally consolidated ”.
Whereas, regarding the institutional non-accreditation in the academic year 2019/20, he emphasized that it came as a result of an irregular and unfounded process in the factual situation. “We have already taken all the measures and are making the right arrangements for everything to go well and be accredited as a university.”
The Student Parliament Speaker, Ensar Suma, thanked the management for support regarding student activities. He also spoke about increasing student representation in decision-making bodies at UMIB.
At the table, the students raised various concerns regarding the learning process. It was also emphasized the need for students to be more active.
