THE FACULTY OF LAW ORGANIZED A MEETING WITH THE ADVISORY BOARD (Stakeholders) OF THE FACULTY

On December 16, 2024, the Faculty of Law at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica held a regular meeting with the Advisory Board of the Faculty.

The meeting was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Islam Qerimi, who welcomed the participants. He informed the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Mr. Shpëtim Peci, prosecutor, about the fulfillment of the legal requirements for holding the meeting, as the quorum was present. The following members participated in the meeting:

  • Mr. Shpëtim Peci – Chairman of the Advisory Board, Prosecutor at the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica
  • Ganimete Xhelili – President of the Kosovo Mediation Chamber, Member
  • Vesel Ismajli – Judge at the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina, Member
  • Fatmir Behrami – Prosecutor at the Juvenile Department of the Basic Prosecution in Pristina, Member
  • Kushtrim Shyti – Judge at the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina, Member
  • Nebi Halili – Senior Officer of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Member
  • MSc Milaim Mehmeti, PhD (c) – Faculty of Economics, UIBM, Member
  • Prof. Assoc. Dr. Islam Qerimi – Dean of the Faculty of Law, UIBM, Member
  • Prof. Assoc. Dr. Arbnor Ajeti – Vice Dean, Faculty of Law, UIBM, Member
  • Prof. Assoc. Dr. Përparim Gruda – Faculty of Law, UIBM, Member

Initially, Dean Qerimi presented an overview of the Faculty’s activities, including efforts to improve and advance the Law Faculty program and the submission of the program’s improvement plan to the Kosovo Accreditation Agency. He emphasized the commencement of intensive work to meet all obligations in accordance with the recommendations of external experts. Dean Qerimi also highlighted the importance of international collaboration, mentioning his involvement in drafting a chapter for an international book on sanctions and imprisonment in the Balkans, as well as the opportunity to give an open lecture for the German Institute FRIMAP on international mediation.

Chairman Peci congratulated the Dean, academic staff, students, ALUMNI, Stakeholders, and all those who have contributed so far to the proven results of the faculty in the successful re-accreditation process! He also spoke about the intensive cooperation between the faculty and the industry, specifically with the judiciary and business sectors, with the aim of enabling students to acquire the necessary skills to further enhance the quality of the program. Chairman Peci described the meeting as an exceptionally constructive and productive atmosphere, during which various ideas, projects, and forms were discussed by each member of the Advisory Board for the benefit of the Faculty.

In conclusion, Chairman Peci thanked the members of the Advisory Board for their dedication and motivated them to continue contributing to the improvement of the Faculty and the preparation of students for future professional challenges. Furthermore, it was decided that the next meeting would be held in the summer semester of 2024-2025.
