On 15 October 2026, vice rector, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Edita Bekteshi represented the UIBM in the International Symposium “Kosovo Spatial Vision 2050”, held at Emerald Hotel in Pristina. The event was organized by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, in cooperation with the Swiss Embassy, the German Embassy, and GIZ.

The symposium brought together representatives of local and international institutions, professors, and experts from different countries to discuss Kosovo’s spatial development vision for 2050.

Discussions focused on sustainable urban planning, environmental protection, urban regeneration, climate change resilience, and citizen participation in decision-making. The importance of interinstitutional cooperation and translating the vision into concrete actions for a more sustainable future was emphasized.
