Alumnus of the Faculty of Mechanical and Computer Engineering – UIBM
I am Mergim Grajçevci, a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Production Machinery program at the Faculty of Mechanical and Computer Engineering, University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica. Even before completing my studies in Production Machinery at FIMK, I secured employment at one of the most important energy institutions in the country – KEK. I currently work as a Machinery Technician at the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK).
In my daily work, I am responsible for monitoring machine performance, preventive maintenance, and repairing damaged equipment. The technical training I received at the Faculty of Mechanical and Computer Engineering – UIBM has been essential in preparing me for these tasks.
My studies at UIBM have had a significant impact on my professional development. I gained strong theoretical knowledge and, more importantly, valuable hands-on experience. One of the best aspects of the program was gaining familiarity with a wide range of engineering software tools, including:
AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SolidCAM, Inventor, Fusion 360, CATIA, ANSYS, MathCAD, and others.
Working with these tools helped me build skills in mechanical design, finite element analysis (FEA), production preparation, and engineering simulations – skills I now apply daily in my job.
Among the best experiences during my studies, I would highlight:
- Participation in student projects
- Practical training in the faculty’s workshop
- Constant interaction with professors
- And the modern university facilities, which provide ideal conditions for learning and development.
Although I have not had international experiences, my education at the Faculty of Mechanical and Computer Engineering has given me the confidence and competencies to build a stable career in Kosovo.
My advice to current students and those considering FIMK at UIBM is this:
Focus on your studies and personal development. Make the most of the opportunities offered by the university – especially the lab equipment, internships, and professional software. Don’t hesitate to seek support and guidance from your professors, who are always ready to help you succeed professionally.
