Thanks to a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Law at “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM) and the Faculty of Law at the University of Cologne—initiated by Prof. Dr. Islam Qerimi (Dean) and Prof. Dr. Anja Schiemann (Head of the Criminal Law Department)—our students are participating in the 10th edition of the International Cold Case Analysis Project (ICCAP). This project is conducted in collaboration with partner universities from Germany and other European countries, involving professors, researchers, and field professionals.

ICCAP is a prestigious international initiative that offers students a unique opportunity to be part of the professional analysis of real unsolved criminal cases. The project takes place in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, where students work side by side with international peers and experts from fields such as criminal justice, forensic science, anthropology, and psychology.

Participation in the project is based on an application process in which students express their interest and demonstrate their academic and practical background in relevant fields. Once accepted, they are placed into mixed international teams and work on in-depth analyses of real cases under the supervision and mentorship of professors and professionals from the participating institutions.

This direct engagement in solving cold cases represents a valuable experience for our students, equipping them with practical skills, critical thinking, and in-depth preparation for the challenges of the job market. Participation in ICCAP stands as clear evidence of the UIBM Faculty of Law’s commitment to providing high-quality, practice-oriented, and internationally focused legal education tailored to labor market demands.
