The “Isa Boletini” University of Mitrovica (UIBM) will collaborate with the Regional Waste Company “Uniteti” J.S.C. on matters of mutual interest. To define the objectives and areas of cooperation, a Cooperation Agreement was signed on Friday by the Rector of UIBM, Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, and the Chief Executive Officer of “Uniteti” J.S.C., Ylber Murtezaj.

The purpose of this Agreement is to establish and develop mutual cooperation between UIBM and the company “Uniteti,” fulfilling the following objectives: organizing activities to raise awareness about waste management at both the university and local levels; facilitating professional internships for UIBM students in the field of waste management; and developing joint scientific and research projects focused on environmental protection.

Specific points of cooperation include education and training, involving the organization of seminars, workshops, and educational campaigns on recycling and waste management. Another important area is the organization of professional internships, which includes allowing UIBM students to conduct professional practice within the company. Additionally, the agreement foresees the drafting of joint projects that support sustainable development and the improvement of waste management infrastructure.

Rector Deva emphasized that this agreement opens opportunities for both UIBM and the “Uniteti” company, considering the technical nature of the university’s programs, including the environmental program. The Chief Executive Officer of “Uniteti,” Ylber Murtezaj, also regarded the agreement as valuable and mutually beneficial, expressing gratitude to UIBM’s leadership for their professional approach and willingness to cooperate.
