The Rector of the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica, Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, together with the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Bahtir Hyseni, and the Dean of the Faculty of Food Technology, Prof. Dr. Mensur Kelmendi, held a working meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Hirano Mushroom, Mr Nehat Bahtiri.

During the meeting, Rector Deva highly praised the contribution of Hirano Mushroom and its readiness to cooperate with the University, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the link between academia and the private sector. Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Food Technology, Prof. Dr. Mensur Kelmendi, underlined the importance of strengthening industry–faculty cooperation, which will lead to improved practical skills of the students. In his remarks, Mr Bahtiri highlighted the important role played by the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica in the development of higher education in the city, the region, and throughout Kosovo.

Following fruitful discussions and the presentation of joint cooperation plans, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between UIBM, FFT and Hirano Mushroom. This memorandum lays the groundwork for joint projects, study visits, professional internships for students, as well as cooperation in the field of food technology, innovation and scientific research.
