The Rector of the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica, Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, received on Tuesday Prof. Dr. Ellen L. Yee, Professor of Law and Director of International Programs at Drake University Law School (USA), who is staying at UIBM within the framework of the Fulbright Specialist Award program. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, led by Ms. Remzije Potoku.

On this occasion, Rector Deva expressed her gratitude to the staff of the U.S. Embassy for their visit and for the interest shown in the progress of the project entitled “Internationalizing UIBM’s Legal Curriculum for Impact”, supported by the Fulbright Specialist Program. She also highly appreciated the professional work and dedication demonstrated by Prof. Dr. Ellen L. Yee during her engagement at UIBM.

The meeting was attended by the Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Sabri Avdullahi and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Edita Hasani, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Islam Qerimi, as well as the General Coordinator of the project, Prof. Assist. Dr. Zahir Çerkini. Dean Qerimi emphasized the particular importance of this project for the academic development and internationalization of the Faculty of Law, while Coordinator Çerkini stated that the project implementation is progressing according to the planned timeline.

For her part, Prof. Dr. Ellen L. Yee thanked the Rector and the entire UIBM staff for the warm welcome and continuous support, emphasizing that during her stay she found a warm, professional, and highly committed academic environment.

The project “Internationalizing UIBM’s Legal Curriculum for Impact”, supported by the Fulbright Specialist Program, aims to modernize and internationalize the Bachelor’s curriculum in Law by aligning it with European and international standards. A particular focus of the project is the integration of international and comparative perspectives into existing syllabi, the strengthening of academic staff capacities, and the development of sustainable inter-institutional partnerships.
