At the premises of the Faculty of Geosciences at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM), a scientific roundtable was successfully held within the framework of the project: “Research on the possibility of recovering gases from the lignite combustion process in the Kosovo B Power Plant”,

The project is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) within the HEI’25 program, and aims to develop scientific research related to teaching, by analyzing alternatives for recovering gases from the lignite combustion process – a step towards reducing pollution and increasing energy efficiency in the Kosovo B Power Plant.
The achieved research results of the project were presented, the importance of implementing new technologies and their impact on environmental policies and the education of new generations in technical and scientific fields was discussed.
This project, in addition to the research component, also contributes to improving the quality of teaching in the field of pyro metallurgy and sustainable industrial technologies, as part of UIBM’s commitment to preparing skilled personnel for the labor market and contemporary environmental challenges.
