ORCA leaders presented on Thursday at the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM) the grant opportunities for the implementation of research-based teaching projects. They explained that these grants are funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MASHTI) and the HEI25 project.

Initially, a meeting was held with the rector of UIBM, prof.dr. Nurten Deva and the vice-rector for Budget and Finance, prof.asoc.dr. Ismet Mulliqi, where grants and cooperation opportunities were discussed. Rector Deva thanked the participants for the information regarding the grants and opportunities offered to teachers and students.

Separate information sessions were held with teachers and students, where detailed explanations were given regarding the grant opportunities for the implementation of research-based teaching projects. It was announced that a total of 15 grants will be awarded, with a maximum amount of up to 10 thousand euros.

Regarding these grants, a notice was also published by MESTI, which explains that the grant for the implementation of the research-based teaching project is given to the teacher for supporting ideas for research-based teaching, in order to advance the teaching process in the higher education institution where the teacher works;

The grant from point 2.1 can also be given to a group of teachers who will work together in the implementation of research-based teaching (ex-ante);

The grant is given based on individual or group application in the open competition;

The maximum grant amount is €10,000.00 (ten thousand euros), of which €6,000.00 (six thousand euros) are covered by MASTI and €4()00.00 (four thousand euros) are covered by the HE125 project, where at least 50% of the grant must be used to cover direct research costs;

In the case of a group application, applicants must identify the grantee

Application conditions:

Each teacher in regular employment at a higher education institution, or a group of teachers in regular employment at the same higher education institution, is eligible to apply.

In the case of a group application, one of the group members is designated as the contact person for the application.

The application must have the support of the higher education institution where the applicant or group of applicants is employed. The letter of support can be issued by the Dean or the senior management of the institution.

The number of grants offered is 15 (fifteen). The call remains open until the number of grants is filled. The number of grants may be increased by decision of the Minister and within the budgetary possibilities of MESTI.
