Open Lecture by the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the International University of Sarajevo, Professor Ena Kazic
On May 19, 2025, an open lecture was held via the Zoom platform at the Faculty of Law, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ena Kazic, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the International University of Sarajevo. The lecture was dedicated to students of the Criminology program as well as those attending the Advanced Criminal (Procedural) Law course.
The topic of the lecture was “Restorative Justice”, a contemporary approach to addressing criminal offenses that emphasizes repairing harm and restoring relationships between the involved parties, rather than focusing solely on punishing the offender. Restorative justice seeks to actively involve the victim, the offender, and the community in the resolution process, aiming for a more inclusive and healing outcome for all stakeholders.
The lecture was met with great interest from students, who actively engaged by posing numerous questions, enriching the discussion on the effectiveness and practical implementation of restorative justice. Professor Kazic responded to the students’ inquiries with dedication and professionalism, fostering a productive academic dialogue.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Islam Qerimi, expressed his gratitude to Dean Kazic for her cooperation and willingness to share her expertise with our students. He also thanked the students for their active participation and constructive discussions, which contributed greatly to the success of the lecture. The event was also attended by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ass. Prof. Dr. Arbnor Ajeti.
