As part of the LEADALKO project – Leadership Capacities Development in Higher Education across Albania and Kosovo, staff from partner universities – Beder University, Western Balkan University, Polis University, Malta, ISSBS and Business College – visited the Mitrovica Museum and the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz.

The Mitrovica Museum, founded in 1952, is one of the oldest cultural institutions in the city and preserves over 800 ethnological exhibits, materials, historical documents, geological and numismatic collections. The visit was led by the Director of the Museum, Ms. Nora Prekazi, who with her professionalism and passion made this visit even more valuable.

The visit continued at the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex, built to honor the Martyrs of the Battle of Jashari on March 5–7, 1998. This complex is a site of special national interest and preserves the memory of the heroic sacrifice of 20 members of the Jashari family, including 10 children, who fell in defense of the homeland and the nation.

This activity provided a unique opportunity for participants to learn about the cultural and historical heritage of Kosovo and to be inspired by the history and heroism of the Kosovar people.
