The University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica and the University of Florence (Italy) have signed an Agreement on Cultural and Scientific Cooperation, aiming to strengthen academic collaboration and joint research activities between the two institutions.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Alessandra Petrucci, President of the University of Florence, and Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, Rector of the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica, reflecting the mutual interest of both universities in fostering international academic cooperation.

The initial cooperation will focus on the field of Geosciences, involving the Department of Earth Sciences (DST) at the University of Florence and the Faculty of Geosciences at the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica, with the possibility of expanding collaboration to other fields of mutual interest.

The agreement foresees a wide range of collaborative activities, including the exchange of academic and research staff, student mobility for study and research purposes, the implementation of joint research projects, as well as the organization of seminars, conferences, and other academic initiatives.

The implementation and coordination of the activities envisaged under this agreement will be overseen by Prof. Franco Tassi from the University of Florence and Prof. Dr. sc. Sabri Avdullahi from the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica, who will ensure the effective development of the inter-university cooperation.

This agreement represents an important step toward the internationalization of higher education, the enhancement of teaching and research quality, and the creation of new academic opportunities for students and staff of both universities.
