Students from the Faculty of Economics, together with Professors Ajtene Avdullahi and Besart Hajrizi, participated in Green Finance Day 2025, held on December 5 at the Insta Innovation Center.

The event brought together financial and institutional leaders to discuss key topics such as the financing of the green transition and its impact on the economy and communities, green lending, guarantees and blended finance, sustainable infrastructure and decarbonized construction, climate risk management and ESG standards, as well as innovative financing for SMEs and large-scale projects.

The opening session featured a welcome address by Eric Dietz, Head of Mission at the Embassy of Luxembourg in Pristina, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration for sustainable development.

The main panel gathered experts from IFC, EBRD, ProCredit Bank Kosova, and the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund, who shared insights on the challenges and emerging pathways in green finance. This was followed by a structured dialogue session with Bersant Disha, CEO of Recura Financials, and Mentor Pllana, CEO and Founder of Pllana Capital, InstaBuilt, and Cherry Communities, reflecting on the vision, obstacles, and practical steps for advancing the green transition.

The event was further enriched by a performance from Melisa Ibrahimi, internationally award-winning pianist, and contributions from the Music School of Mitrovica, celebrating its 70th anniversary.

The participation of our academic staff and students in this event provided an important opportunity to follow international developments in green finance and to strengthen academic collaboration with institutions and industry.
