At the Faculty of Law of UIBM, a joint lecture was held for students attending the course “Criminalistics,” with the theme: “Sexual Abuse through Technology: Analysis of the Criminal Framework in Kosovo and Cyber Risks.”

The co-lecturer alongside Professor Islam Qerimi, the course holder, was Ms. Greta Daci, PhD (c), from the University of Göttingen in Germany.

Doctoral candidate Daci provided students with a detailed overview of the various forms of sexual abuse through technology, including: sextortion (online sexual blackmail); grooming (online enticement of minors); child pornography; revenge porn (non-consensual sharing of intimate materials); deepfake pornography and image manipulation; defamation; online impersonation; and doxing (distribution of personal information).

From the legal-criminal perspective, the co-lecturers presented the provisions of the Criminal Code of Kosovo that address these offenses, including:

• Article 183: Sexual Harassment
• Article 226: Mistake of Fact Regarding the Age of the Victim
• Article 227: Rape
• Article 229: Sexual Assault
• Article 230: Degradation of Sexual Integrity
• Article 231: Offering Pornographic Material to Persons Under Sixteen
• Article 232: Child Pornography
• Article 233: Inducement to Sexual Acts through False Promise of Marriage

The students followed the joint lecture with great interest, actively engaging by asking questions, which turned the session into a dynamic and lively debate.

Following the lecture, the Dean, together with the Faculty management and academic staff, hosted a reception for Ms. Daci in his office, where they also discussed future cooperation plans with German institutions in which Ms. Daci is involved.
