At the invitation of the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Prof. Dr. Panagiotis Glavinis, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica, Prof. Dr. Islam Qerimi, paid an official visit to this renowned Greek academic institution. During the visit, Dean Qerimi was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Haki Demolli, a professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina.

The delegation from Kosovo was warmly welcomed by Dean Glavinis, along with the management, academic, and administrative staff of the Faculty of Law at Aristotle University. The meeting took place in an exceptionally friendly and constructive atmosphere, where both sides emphasized their mutual willingness to strengthen academic cooperation between the two institutions.

During the visit, concrete ways of implementing the memorandum of cooperation, which has already entered into force, were discussed. One of the tangible outcomes of this collaboration was the donation of a valuable collection of university textbooks in the field of civil law to the Faculty of Law in Mitrovica, a contribution made by the Faculty of Law in Thessaloniki, specifically by Professor Angelos Kornilakis.

An agreement was also reached to initiate academic exchanges starting from the next semester, which will include the reciprocal involvement of academic staff in joint lectures and research activities. The Faculty of Law in Thessaloniki will offer special support to the Faculty of Law in Mitrovica by sharing the latest knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence.

The parties also discussed opportunities for collaboration on bilateral, regional, and European projects, with a particular focus on educational and research programs supported by the European Union.

Another key point of the meeting was the agreement that bachelor-level students from the Faculty of Law at “Isa Boletini” University will have the opportunity to apply for postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Law of Aristotle University, with the right to special benefits and facilitations.

During this visit, the delegation from Kosovo had the opportunity to closely observe the modern facilities of the Faculty in Thessaloniki, including professors’ offices, lecture halls, the student amphitheater, research institutes, and the library. Special attention was given to the presentation of the advanced technological infrastructure used to enhance the quality of the teaching process.

Dean Qerimi’s visit to Thessaloniki marks an important step toward expanding inter-institutional cooperation and the internationalization of the Faculty of Law at “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica, creating new opportunities for students and academic staff in the fields of legal education and scientific research.
