The University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica and Business College successfully concluded the three-day piloting of the Leadership Development Programme within the Erasmus+ CBHE project LEADALKO – Leadership Capacities Development in Higher Education across Albania and Kosovo.

The second day of the programme focused on Module 7: Creating Impact for Society, which explored the role of higher education institutions in addressing societal challenges and contributing to sustainable development. Participants engaged in discussions on leveraging university strengths and resources to respond to societal needs, aligning research and innovation with community priorities, and empowering students and graduates as active agents of change. The module encouraged participants to reflect on how universities can strengthen their social impact and foster meaningful engagement with their communities.

The final day was dedicated to the presentation of Change Projects developed by participant groups as part of the Leadership Development Programme. Three project teams presented innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional development and stakeholder engagement. The projects focused on strengthening the functioning of professional and pedagogical support structures, increasing student and staff engagement through organizational and cultural change, and improving student welfare through enhanced access to affordable meal services.

As part of the third Change Project, participants visited Ku’zina – the Central Kitchen of Prishtina, where a significant milestone was achieved through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between Business College and Ku’zina. This agreement represents a tangible outcome of the project and aims to improve student well-being by providing Business College students with access to nutritious meals at highly affordable prices.

Through this partnership, students will benefit from substantially reduced meal costs, contributing to a more supportive and inclusive learning environment. The initiative demonstrates how leadership-driven institutional change can generate practical solutions that directly improve the student experience and strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions and community partners.

The successful completion of the piloting programme marks another important step in the implementation of the LEADALKO project, reinforcing the commitment of partner institutions to innovation, leadership development, and societal impact in higher education.
