Representatives of our university participated in the European University Association (EUA) General Assembly and Annual Conference held in April 2026 at Yeditepe University.

The conference, convened under the theme “The Voice of Europe’s Universities”, gathered university leaders and higher education stakeholders from across Europe to address strategic priorities and emerging challenges in the European higher education and research landscape.

Key discussions focused on the transformation of higher education in the context of digitalisation and artificial intelligence, increasing financial pressures on institutions, and the implications of ongoing geopolitical instability and policy realignments in Europe. Particular attention was given to the role of universities in strengthening competitiveness, safeguarding academic freedom, and advancing sustainability, alongside the future of flagship European initiatives such as Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe within the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework.

The conference reaffirmed the EUA’s commitment to supporting its member institutions through strategic advocacy, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives. The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening the role of universities as key drivers of societal progress, democratic values, and innovation across Europe.

Participation in the event provided valuable insights into current policy developments and strategic directions shaping the future of European higher education.
