On 15 October 2025, Prof.ass.dr.EDBA. Filloreta Kunoviku Demiri from the Faculty of Economics, University Isa Boletini in Mitrovica (UIBM) participated as a panelist in Session 4: Practice Examples – Advancing Gender Equality through Teaching and Research, during the Workshop on Gender Equality in Higher Education in Kosovo, organized by the SHER Programme.

Prof. Kunoviku Demiri contributed to the panel as the grant winner of the project “EmpowerHER: Bridging Gender Equality, Mental Health, and Entrepreneurship for Female Students”, an initiative supported under the SHER Social Dimension Small Grant Scheme. Her presentation highlighted the project’s innovative approach to empowering female students through a combination of gender awareness, mental health support, and entrepreneurial skill development.

The workshop, organized by SHER in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), WUS Austria, and other partners, gathered representatives from public universities, the Agency for Gender Equality, UN Women Kosovo, and civil society organizations. It served as an important platform to exchange experiences and best practices on integrating gender equality into teaching, learning, and research.

Through her participation, Prof. Kunoviku Demiri showcased UIBM’s ongoing commitment to promoting gender equality, inclusiveness, and empowerment within higher education. The university continues to support initiatives that foster equal opportunities and strengthen the role of women in academia and beyond.
