As part of the “Coffee Beans 2.0” project, for three consecutive days, the Faculty of Food Technology had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Emrah Nikrel from Yeditepe University in Istanbul. Professor Nikrel’s visit was marked by a busy academic and collaborative agenda, including lectures, meetings and exchange of experiences with staff and students.

During the visit, Prof. Nikrel held two lectures with students of both study levels and the academic staff of the Faculty. The topics covered were:

“Using elemental balances to manage industrial fermentations: diagnostics, QC and design”

“Optimizing nitrogenize production at pilot scale: statistical considerations”

The lectures were well received by the participants, who had the opportunity to learn more about modern approaches in food technology and scientific research in the field of industrial fermentations.

As part of the visit, Prof. Nikrel was also received by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mensur Kelmendi, who expressed his gratitude for the professor’s contribution and emphasized the readiness to deepen academic cooperation in the future. During the meeting, new forms of cooperation between the two institutions were also discussed.

The project “Coffee Beans 2.0” is led by Prof. Ass. Dr. Bahtir Hyseni and is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MASHTI). The project is being implemented in the laboratories of the Faculty of Food Technology, in collaboration with the Prince Turkish Coffee industry.
