Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project LEADALKO – Leadership Capacities Development in Higher Education across Albania and Kosovo, the piloting of the Leadership Development Programme (LDP) was successfully delivered on 29–31 January 2026 at Kolegji Biznesi, Kosovo.

The training brought together representatives and professionals from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosovo, the Kosovo Pedagogical Institute, the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica, and Kolegji Biznesi, creating a strong multi-institutional learning and cooperation environment.

The programme was delivered by academic staff from UIBM and Kolegji Biznesi, Prof.ass.dr. Filloreta Kunoviku Demiri and Prof. Atdhe Kabashi together with international experts, including Prof.dr. Jan Uwic and Prof.dr. David Dawson, who provided valuable international perspectives on leadership, governance and institutional change in higher education.

During the three-day programme, participants followed a comprehensive set of training modules focused on:

• strategic leadership and governance in higher education,
• academic leadership and institutional values,
• effective communication and leadership skills, and
• the design, implementation and evaluation of institutional change projects.

Participants were highly engaged throughout the sessions, actively contributing to discussions, group work and practical exercises. As a key outcome of the piloting phase, participants developed and refined concrete and innovative change project ideas, which they will implement within their institutions over the next six months.

The successful delivery of the Leadership Development Programme represents an important milestone for the LEADALKO project and contributes directly to strengthening leadership capacities, institutional development and sustainable change within higher education institutions in Kosovo and the wider region.
