Three student projects from the University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica were awarded prizes at the ceremony for the 13 recipients of the “Open Call for Creative and Innovative Projects in STEM Fields,” which aims to promote innovation and practical solutions for social and environmental challenges. The call was open to bachelor students from the faculties of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Architecture at public universities and private colleges in Kosovo, during the period October 8 – November 5, 2025.

The student group from the Faculty of Geosciences—Omer Gucati, Eljona Munishi, Valona Prokshi, Enver Fejza, and Albina Rama—won second place with their project “Recycling in the Circular Economy and Social Impact” in the sciences field. The student group from the Faculty of Informatics and Mechanical Engineering—Behar Xhosha, Sejdi Gashi, and Redon Berisha—won second place with the project “Help Others” in the technology field, while another FIMK student group—Agnesa Baliu, Erza Peci, and Erona Maxhuni—won third place with the project “CodePathX,” also in the technology field.

Acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, presented the awards to the students benefiting from the creative and innovative STEM projects. She congratulated the students on their achievements and emphasized that supporting them in STEM fields is an investment in the country’s future, highlighting innovative ideas, teamwork, equal participation of girls and boys, and encouraging the development of feasible projects that address real societal needs.

The Rector of UIBM, Prof. Dr. Nurten Deva, praised the students’ engagement with their projects, congratulated them on their success, and encouraged them to continue participating in such activities.
