Students of the UIBM Faculty of Law, Saranda Gashi, Medina Beka, and Elsa Topallaj, under the mentorship of assistant Argjent Behrami, participated in the prestigious ELSA Negotiation Competition Albania, an activity aimed at developing the professional skills of law students in the fields of negotiation, strategic communication, and dispute resolution in a diplomatic and effective manner.

This competition was organized through several carefully structured phases, simulating real legal and professional situations in which participants were faced with challenges that required not only theoretical legal knowledge, but also advanced analytical, argumentative, and collaborative skills. During the initial phase, the teams clearly presented the objectives and key interests of the parties they represented, identifying the legal and strategic priorities of the case. In addition, each team elaborated on the strategy used to achieve the most effective outcomes throughout the negotiation process.

As the competition progressed, participants engaged in direct negotiations with the opposing party, where their abilities to communicate professionally, manage complex situations, and build bridges of cooperation between parties with differing interests were assessed. Throughout this process, the team from the UIBM Faculty of Law demonstrated a high level of academic preparation and professionalism, showing flexibility, confidence, and a constructive approach toward reaching compromise.

One of the most significant aspects of the competition was the drafting of a preliminary agreement, which required legal precision, clarity in formulation, and the ability to reflect the interests of all parties involved. In the final phase, the teams aimed to reach a joint and mutually acceptable agreement, thereby demonstrating the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding, and negotiation as essential mechanisms for conflict resolution.

Throughout the competition phases, students Saranda Gashi, Medina Beka, and Elsa Topallaj demonstrated dedication, seriousness, and strong negotiation skills, representing the UIBM Faculty of Law with dignity in the ELSA Negotiation Competition Albania. Their participation in this competition represents an important academic and professional experience, contributing to the practical development of students in the fields of law, communication, and negotiation.

As a sign of appreciation for the students’ commitment and worthy representation, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Islam Qerimi, emphasized that their participation, together with the support and mentorship provided by civil law assistant Argjent Behrami, reflects the continuous engagement of UIBM students and academic staff in activities that enhance the professional and practical skills of future legal professionals. He also announced that certificates of appreciation would be awarded to the participating students and their mentor as a gesture of recognition and encouragement for their future academic and professional engagements.
