The University “Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica (UIBM) participated in the International Week of Staff (IWS) held at USAK University, Turkey — an event of particular importance within the framework of higher education internationalization.

Throughout the week, USAK University hosted participants from prestigious universities across Europe, Asia, and Africa. UIBM was represented by Rector Nurten Deva, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Bahtir Hyseni, and representatives from the International Relations Office, Mr. Abdullah Sadiku and Ms. Elvedina Ismajli.

On the first day of the IWS, Rector Deva was welcomed in an official meeting by the host university’s rector, along with rectors from other participating institutions. This meeting served as a valuable opportunity for establishing new contacts with higher education institutions with which UIBM had no prior cooperation and for strengthening existing partnerships, particularly in areas such as academic mobility, capacity building, and scientific research.

One of the most significant activities of the week was the official meeting with the Mayor of USAK, during which possibilities for enhancing cooperation between the Municipality of Mitrovica and the Municipality of USAK were discussed. Areas of mutual interest included education, youth development, cultural exchange, and local economic development.

During the IWS sessions, discussions focused on future collaboration in international projects and the foundation for new partnerships was laid. UIBM took this opportunity to initiate cooperation with institutions with which no previous agreements existed and to further reinforce current collaborations, with the aim of developing joint projects in capacity building, staff development, and academic and student mobility.

Participation in this activity aligns with UIBM’s strategic objective to enhance the international dimension of the university and to expand cooperation opportunities with new partners from various regions and continents.
