The Vice-Rector for Research and Scientific Investigations at UIBM, Assoc. Prof. Bahtir Hyseni, together with the Vice-Rector for Quality, Prof. dr. Sabri Avdullahi, welcomed to the meeting the expert Mr. Felix Gajdusek, a member of the consortium and an expert in the field, as well as the representative of SHER, Ms. Shqiponja Kodraliu.

The meeting was held within the framework of efforts to advance and re-initiate the KRIS – Kosovo Research Information System platform, with the aim of reviewing the possibilities for its further development and strengthening the role of this platform in supporting scientific research in Kosovo.

During the discussions, the Vice-Rector for Research and Scientific Investigations, Assoc. Prof. Bahtir Hyseni, expressed UIBM’s interest in continuing cooperation in this direction. He informed the attendees that UIBM, with its institutional capacities, is investing in the creation of similar platforms for internal use, with the aim of advancing research data management and supporting academic staff in research activities.

Also, Prof. Hyseni emphasized the importance of the KRIS platform, in addition to its role in networking academic and research staff, to expand its functionalities in terms of providing additional services, such as access to scientific platforms, academic journals and other relevant resources for public universities in Kosovo.

For his part, Mr. Felix Gajdusek emphasized the importance of this cooperation in the process of re-initiating and advancing the KRIS platform. He assessed that this platform could have an important role in strengthening the networking of academic staff, increasing the visibility of research work and creating new opportunities for inter-institutional cooperation in the field of scientific research.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to continue communication and cooperation with the aim of identifying concrete steps for the further development of the KRIS platform and the active involvement of public universities in this process.
