A “Mock Trial” was held at the Faculty of Law of UIBM
A “Mock Trial” was held on Thursday at the Faculty of Law of the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica. In addition to students and academic staff, representatives from the UIBM management and justice institutions were also present. The activity aimed to promote students’ practical skills in the field of law through the simulation of a court proceeding, as well as to strengthen academic and professional cooperation with justice institutions in the Republic of Kosovo.
On behalf of UIBM, the attendees were welcomed by the Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Muharrem Zabeli, who praised the commitment and excellent work of the management and academic staff at the Faculty of Law. He emphasized the importance of such activities for students, who become more connected with their profession through practical work and cooperation with justice institutions.
Meanwhile, the Dean, Prof. Dr. Islam Qerimi, thanked the officials of justice institutions, as well as the academic and administrative staff, for their support in organizing the “Mock Trial.”
“It is an extraordinary opportunity for students to practice their lessons in an event like this, while collaborating with state officials,” he stated.
Following the speeches, the “Mock Trial” was conducted, beginning with the presentation of the evaluation panel (Rafet Hoxhaj, judge at the Court of Appeals; Albana Parduzi, prosecutor at the Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica; and Armand Shkoza, lawyer), followed by the competition rules and the continuation of the trial proceedings by the participating groups, concluding with the evaluation and announcement of results by the panel representing justice institutions.
